Final Cut

The class used the program Final Cut Express to edit the lip sync exercise. Here are some screen shots of the editing process whilst using this program.

Lip Sync Exercise

Last friday our class went out to film some footage that we would then turn into a music video. Each group chose a one minute clip from a song at random. Our group (consisting of me, Sam, Tim and Ash) chose the song Roxanne by The Police.

We decided that we would have a shot of each of us in different locations, then one of all of us in one location. This was to add some variety to the video. Doing this allowed us to create a different character and setting for each of the band members. Giving them individualism. Each of us acted singing the song and we added several different shot styles and camera angles.

This is the video:

I think it turned out rather well. Obviously it is far from perfect, some of the cuts are off timing and I think the video is out of sync with the music in a couple of parts, but for a first attempt I think it went rather well.

I tried to increase the frequency of the cuts towards the end when the music gets more lively and energetic to try and mimic the hightened intensity.
